Hi Ylva,
Thanks a ton for forwarding this fabulous piece. It found it absolutely
exciting.
Somewhere down the lines, Lawrence Shirley says
...."it's amazing how he (professor Eglash) was able to pull things out of
the culture and fit them into mathematics developed in the West,"...
but perhaps the real challenge to African intellectuals and academics is to
try to do the exact opposite: pulling things out of the West and fitting
them into African patterns of thought and creativity..
