I have run into a small problem with a friend's PC. It will no longer function with any type of mouse plugged in. It is a C500 with 198MB RAM on a PCChips M766LMRT fully-integrated motherboard (I810 chipset, video, 10/100, 56K, sound) running Windows 2000 Pro. I have plugged in serial, PS/2, USB, w/scroll, three button, everything but a trackball. If I plug any of them in before Windows has loaded it crashes right after the windows background loads. If I plug in a serial or usb after windows has loaded and pnp them in, it will work for anywhere from 2 seconds to about 2 minutes. If I don't use the mouse after installing it or try to run Windows Update it won't crash. I wiped the drive and reinstalled the OS and the problem is still there. It was working fine for several weeks prior to this, but I am at a total loss here. Any help
would be appreciated.
