Here are some suggestions:

1.  How you setup your router's WAN settings depends on the ISP.  Mine
        uses DHCP so I all had to do to pull an IP address is power cycle my
        modem (turn of, wait a moment, then turn on) Then do a DHCP Renew onthe
        router. If this doesn't work you'll either need to call your ISP and
register
        your new MAC address of the WAN port of the router, or (this is easier) you
        can use the Advanced Options in the Router Configuration web page to use
        the MAC addres of your Network Interface Card.

2.  If your ISP uses manually configured settings be sure to configure the
router
        with the appropriate host name, domain name, IP addres, and subnet mask.
You'll
        need to enter the Network Properties in the Control Panel, and goto the
TCP/IP-><NIC NAME>
        Properties and configure the IP for Automatically Obtain IP address.

3.   IF YOU CANNOT SURF TO http://192.168.1.1 to the router configuration
screen you'll
        either need to Goto the Network Properties in the Control Panel, and setup
the TCP/IP-> NIC
        Properties to Automatticaly Obtain IP addres, and click OK, and then reboot
the computer
        and try again.  Verify on the port you have your computer plugged into that
there is and active
        Link/Act light.  Make certain your using a straigh thru 568B Ethernet Patch
Cable on the LAN side.

4.  *********** Read the manual, its had screen shot's and has and a
Troubleshooting guide in the back.  Follow the instructions carefully.  It's
easy to miss something!

I have acable modem going just fine.  I purchased a Linksys 4-port Etherfast
Cable/DSL router today in order to run a couple of PCs off the one cable
modem.  So far, it does not work.  I was wondering..there is a footnote in
one of the instructions to delete any firewall software, like Zone Alarm
(which is what I run).  Is this safe for me to do?  Could this be the
problem?
