Has anyone ever gotten a slightly sore throat or excess mucous in the throat from having too much olive oil or fish oil? About a month ago I started taking 2 fish oil capsules 3 times daily. I actually felt pretty good the first couple of days. However, after 4 or 5 days I noticed that I would wake up with a slight soar throat. I experimented, and found out that when I took the capsules regularly I would get this, and if I didn't take the capsules my sore throat would go away quickly. I didn't look into it that much, but that it could be impurities in the fish oil, since it wasn't "high grade pharmacutical" fish oil, like the kind Dr. Sears promotes.
So, I stopped taking the fish oil, and started making protein shakes with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. This is extra virgin olive oil. I would make these every other day or so. However, I just recently started having these everday, and sometimes twice a day. I've started noticing the same symptoms in my throat that I had when I was taking the fish oil regularly.
Is this because the oils are creating too many free radicals? What happens is a slight sore throat, with extra mucous (flem) in my throat that I can cough up. Has anyone had any experience with this? Other than this, I am a perfectly healthy person (if that exists)!
Thanks,
David
