I've used it. It's the only artificial sweetener I can bear. There's no
bitter aftertaste. It can be substituted cup-for-cup for sugar. It's heat
stable and you can cook with it. In fact, it's derived from sucrose. Since
it's new, there's relatively little research on it (no long term studies), so
some people say to avoid it just for that reason.
It's certainly not paleo because it's highly processed and not found in
nature. I've been trying to wean myself off sweeteners of any kind--just get
used to less "sweet" in my food. I think this is possible. I've stopped
using salt, and now that some time has passed I don't miss it--though I
missed it a lot in the beginning.
