Alex,
I just read through some of the other e mails and saw that yoiur daughter is
nine.
I don't know when she was diagnosed, however, a large percentage of children
with milk allergy will resolve the allergy by the age of 5. It sounds as if
your daughter has continued to have some reactions in recent years, however.
My opininon as a mom and a health care provider would be to challenge the
milk allergy. I, however, would request that it be done in the allergist
office for safety and peace of mind. I plan to have my daughter re-tested
between the ages of 4 and 5, before she starts kindergarten, and, if the
tests are negative for persistent allergy, I will have her challenged if the
allergist recommends to do so. I feel that with children being in school
and growing older, it is better to be aware of where they stand with their
allergies.
