Hi Gary.

I guess that while everyone is talking about their favorite multiband
antenna, I'll throw in my two cents worth.

My favorite antenna would be an antenna that I had used for years. It
consists of an 80 meter inverted vee and a 40 meter inverted vee mounted at
right angles to each other on a common mast and fed with a common coax feed
line. Mine was cut for the low end of 40 and about 3800 khz on 80 meters
(I guess that makes it 75 meters!). This arrangement would load with the
auto tuner in my TS-690S on 80 through 10 meters, and it was even
reasonable on the SSB portion of 6 meters! The fee point on mine was up
about 35 feet and I used UV stabilized rope on the end insulators to tie it
off to some tall metal fence stakes. It was simple and quite
effective. It's only drawback--it does take some real estate to set it up.
