Subject: Motorola RSS and radios

Hi all, I am getting ready to take and pass my technician and hopefully
general class license on Saturday here, and after school gets out there is
a good possibility that I may have access to some used Motorola gear with
a police department's move to 800 MHz trunking. I am hoping to get a hold
of an HT-1000 which is the most high tech radio that they have on the
fleet of their VHF conventional system. I am just wondering if anyone has
had any luck with the Windows version of the Motorola RSS and JFW? Any
information would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.
