I have had a graphic or shall we say augaphic OR IS IT AQUAGRAPHIC demonstration of the permeability of modern electronics to water.

recently on a camping trip I dropped my vx5 into about 3 foot of water and pulled it out immediately and it kept on ticking to steel a phrase from Subaru and Timex.

last night my wife decided to try the same thing with her nokia 6250 cell phone. unfortunately her results were not so good as mine. this says something for the construction of ham vs. consumer equipment.

at any rate HAS ANYONE suggestions of accessible replacements for the nokia that folks like?

thank you!
