I'm very limited in this mode.  Only a half dozen QSO's in the past few
years.  So take my info for what it's worth.

I don't think you set filters narrow.  You leave it wide (3 khz) and let the
software do the rest.  There are a lot of free programs for this mode.  I
have used Digipan which allows  you to use the arrow keys to jump to the
next signal and tunes it automaticly.

This is a low power mode and most guys only run about 20 watts or so.  Too
much power causes IMD problems.  You can run lsb or usb on BPSK mode.  If on
QPSK both stations need to be on the same mode.

You will need a sound card in the pc.  For RX a simple cable from the rig
audio output to the soundcard input will work.  Another from soundcard line
or speaker outputs to the afsk input on the rig (or to the proper pin on the
mic connector if no afsk input on the rig).

You can buy a interface like Rigblaster, or Rascal or others or roll your
own.  A store bought interface will also have  isolation to prevent RF
problems.  Some homebrewers add this and others don't and still get by ok.

Do an internet search for psk software and more info and help.  If you
download the Digipan software (free) there is a tutorial and info on
hombrewing interfacing.


I never spent the time to see if JFW works.  Just made a few Q's with super
large fonts and my nose on  the screen.  Maybe if it will work I'll try it
again.
