Likewise I recall the first Chinese satellite in 1970 I think on about 21 MHZ with the letter c or something like that. Anyone else hear that one?
I recall copying the second sputnik the Russians launched as it went over in 1957. I had a three-element tribander and an HQ-170C and the sputnik was sending the letter L in morse code on 21.000 MHZ for hams to copy. That was exciting stuff in those days.
