Right now I am using an old Phisher PH-410 SW Boom Box. Some of you may
remember about 1982 and the early 80s you could get these radios and tehy
are boom boxes with the SW bands. I have just one complaint about the
receiver and that is that it overloads too easily on FM, and sometimes on
the 7-22 MHz band you'll have FM bleed overs. I guess that my other
complaint is the tape deck, and the flimzy belt that is in it, and the
design of the heads and the way that they spring forward. As far as
recording though, the tape deck does a great job, and records in stereo
from FM, and its the best I've heard from a tape! I'm still looking for
more information on this rig, and if there are any modifications, and
where I could get a replacement belt for the tape deck.
