Hi guys and gals,

Our IT department has issued an edict that requires me to sign off all lists on the ST Johns mail server.  They have had a number of problems with other blindness related lists on this server being infected with various viruses.  While we are running the latest signatures and updates with some of the new ones floating around the net it takes too much time to chase down these bugs on a statewide basis of more than 50 machines.  These questions arise.  

Are others experiencing problems with this list?  I did get a message from someone on this list with the badmas (sp) virus with the subject line of Ann K1STM is famous.... a couple of days ago.  My Norton caught it and deleted it without problem, however as many in our agency are not really savvy about dealing with avoidance techniques and the immediate process with Norton as it is detecting a virus and trying to avoid passing it, this is prompting the wider ban on ST JOHNS.  

Are there blind ham radio lists in other mail servers without this recurring virus problem?  Is there any way that ST JOHNS can be urged to clean up their act?  It would seem to me that they would have a keen interest in keeping their traffic clean and may do so already.  Alternatively would a mail forwarding service like the ARRL insure that the mail from ST JOHNS would be cleaner?

ST JOHNS has some good information at times regarding blindness and I hate to be out of the loop because of these problems and would really like to figure out a way to remedy this.
