That among other things has convinced my wife to get her real tech ticket. She has become a damn good necos as well but is not appreciated by the lazy ones we have on 2 meters now. She is therefore in retirement. I need to find a headset that will work with the Yeasu FT530 as well as the VX5 so she will have a better time doing mobile communications. Any ideas out there?
Thank You!

Yeah; something similar happened to one of my friends in grad school in
new Mexico. He was on a hot date with his girlfriend and somehow his mic
got stuck in the "on" position. For over an hour on 6.49 simplex we were
privileged to eavesdrop on their, um, doings. It was, er, great!
Somehow, the girlfriend wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about hamradio as
was he for a good while after that! (grin)
