At this point I have all my hardware assembled and will soon be "powering
up". I bought an OEM Windows XP disk. If I understand things correctly I
do not need to make a systems disk (I have one for W98), I just need to make
the BIOS changes so that the system will 1st try the CD where it will find
XP and go from there. That is I can do the equivalent of the fdisk
operations from the XP CD. I'm not sure I understand how the CD drive knows
how to read the disk. BTW I using a new HHD. If I decide to separate the
OS and another logical drive for programs, how much room should I leave for
XP - I'm thinking 5 GB is enough? The drive is an 80 GB WD800JB.
