To all listers,
I performed a clean install of XP Home Edition on our file server using a
Windows 98 SE upgrade CD. The only issues that I came across were 1) that I
needed to boot from the XP CD, and 2) that the old P-II BIOS didn't support
the latest SCSI standards, but I was able to install XP without SCSI support
(which it doesn't currently need.)
Good luck,
Rand Blunck

> ... Demetri, it looks like you can save yourself that extra $100 by buying
the XP upgrade CD instead of the XP Full install as long as you have a CD
with a full install of a previous Win 98 (not Win 95, per a previous
listing) or 2K. I'm pretty sure the previous OS has to be a full install CD,
not an upgrade CD.
