Here's a link to a description of the Texas Lowcarb-list Elimination Diet.
I personally know a few people who have used this with amazing results.
The idea is that there could be some foods that you're intolerant to, and
this elimination process lets you find out which they are. It's a lot of
work, and not something to approach lightly. But as a last resort
I've seen it work very well. Not just with weight loss, but symptoms of
uderlying ailments (IBS, anyone?).
I actually used a "lite" version of this diet myself to isolate a few
intolerances and allergies I have. I have never felt the need to do the
complete diet, although I'm sure it would be fantastically enlightening.

The premise: if low carb is not working, or not working well enough, then it
is logical to consider the possibility that food intolerances to otherwise
lowcarb foods or even trace amounts oh high carb foods may be the root of the
problem.
