But, really, don't worry about it.  It's probably not that important, or
many of us would have run into it as a problem already.  The only time I'm
aware of that you really need to be careful about fruit (and nuts to a
lesser extent) is when you are trying to lose weight.  If you are just
doing this to be healthy, do what you feel comfortable with.  The only
self-discipline that's really needed is that which is required to avoid the
forbidden foods.

I think this is a key point. I'm on a lower-carb diet, but I'm not
a paleolithic eater. If I were to switch to paleolithic eating at this
point, I don't think my palate would be a very good guide. Presumably,
though, I could exercise a little self-discipline until my body
had adjusted.
