Hi Michael and all.  I sent a letter to the arrl a couple of years ago
about this very thing.  There are only three radios that Yaesu made that
offer speech.  They are, the FT2700R, the FT736R and the newer HF  rig,
the FT847.  Icom and Kenwood offer speech output for most of there HF
rigs as well as ther vhf/uhf and dual band mobiles.  There was an
external speech symph available from A and A Enginering, but I don't know
if it still is.
