Go  for it.  My first antenna about 15 years ago was a g5rv with center at
30 ft. and ends at 10 ft.  Worked well over 100 countries and most if not
all states.  Use a tuner.  If you have the space, go with the full size 102
feet long rather than the half size 51 feet long.  Mine worked fine on all
bands 80-10 and poorly on 160.  Not really for that band, but you can put
out a signal if your tuner will handle it.  I also understand for 160 you
can short the feedline and work it against ground like a Marconi, but I
never tried it..
