Has any body heard of CPC-500 (see below)? How accurate is the
transcription? They say it's portable between classes, but since the
instructor needs to spend time training the software to recognize their
speech, how portable or flexible is it really? If anyone has experience with
this or similar system, I'd be interested to know how well it works in
actuality.

Subject: Automatic Speech to Text Classroom Captioning System

Realtime Captioning Using Speech Recognition Technology!

A realtime closed captioning system based on speech recognition technology
is now available from CPC. By automatically transforming speech into
captions, it provides a cost-effective way to meet the classroom needs of
hard-of-hearing students. It is available as a complete system, or as
software alone.

The CPC-500 helps you comply with the ADA and Section 508 regulations. The
system typically pays for itself in less than a semester by eliminating sign
language interpreter and stenotypist costs; and also eliminates scheduling
problems associated with these services.
