I wanted to share with the list my recent experience with Robert's American
Gourmet Snacks contaminated "gf" products. I had called the company and
they provided me with a list of their products that are "gf" over the phone.
I purchased several of those products; one of them being Nude Food. This
is popcorn that is supposed to be totally nude - no oil, no salt, no nothing
- simply air-popped. The product was definitely salty and greasy, perhaps
flavored. I immediately called the company and the representative that I
spoke to was very vague and unconcerned. She told me to take the product
back to where I bought it to get a refund. I tried to discuss the issue
with her - after all, this is a company that caters to the health food
stores. She brushed me off the phone and again told me to return it.
Needless to say, my blood pressure soared! I called back and explained what
had happened to a different rep. I also told her that the least of my
concerns at that point was gluten ingestion, since their facility obviously
does not have a proper sanitation process. She told me to send the item in
and someone from quality control would write me a letter to let me know what
was actually in the product. I'd have to swallow the cost of the product
and the shipping! I was outraged!!! This popcorn was not a little salty or
slightly greasy - it was A LOT. I am COMPLETELY DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANY
- not just for the contaminated product but how they handled the situation.
