Hi Richard,

Actually, it isn't unhelpful, it merely clarifies what you said.
Clarification is always good.  I've looked at LaTeX but haven't done
much with it because I found that just plain old Emacs did what I
wanted.  But I will communicate with the student who needs the math
access.    Thanks.
