I am aware of just a few of the advantages of formatting the hard drive ans re-loading the operating system and other software on a 5 year old machine that had separate gig partitions etc.....
such as:
Removing partitions,
FAT 32 V 16 ,
reducing old software,
"cleans" MBR,
update ROM flash,

could you give me a comprehensive list of the advantages/disadvantages of "starting over" with a computers software or send me to a site that discusses it.
