Hi everyone -

I currently work in the Division of Professional Development and Research in
the School of Education and Human Development at Binghamton University in
Binghamton, New York, and I have been asked to spread the word about our new
certificate programs in assistive technology. The description of the
programs is as follows:

The Division of Profesional Development and Research at Binghamton
University is now offering On-line Certificate Programs in Assistive
Technology with the overall goal to prepare professionals to have the
knowledge and skills necessary to provide access to learning and services
for ALL students, including those with disabilities. Assistive Technology
is that area of special education relating to the technology required by
those with disabilities to improve or maintain their functional capability.

Non-credit Specialist Certificates are offered in the following areas:

Educational Services
Early Childhood Services
Occupational Therapy Services
Physical Therapy Services
Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Communications Services

This award-winning on-line certificate program has been recommended by the
Department of Education in the forthcoming New York State Guidelines for
Assistive Technology. It has also been approved by the National Association
of State Directors of Special Education, the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the National Association of School
Psychologists.

Please feel free to pass this information along to other colleagues,
students, and any members of your community who may benefit from this
program. All those who are interested should visit
http://sehd.binghamton.edu/pdr for more information and course registration
details.

Thank you for your time.
