He was a big influence in my growing-up years.  He was the most quiet and laid-back member of the group, and his great music was overshadowed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney's music.  "Something" is one of the best love songs in the history of rock, in my humble opinion.  And his "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was easily the best cut on the "White Album."
