My heart goes out to you.
When I was 18 (20 years ago) I began having near constant pain in my left
hip and leg. My pain was also the result of surgery. (In hind sight, I think
cp and surgery are a dangerous combination.) Here's what was helpful to
me:
- For several years I received shots of Cortisone (a steroidal
anti-inflammatory) directly into my hip. This provided substantial, though
temporary, relief. The effects of one well placed shot lasted about 2
months. Eventually the Cortisone stopped helping, but it got me through for
awhile.
- In my mid-twenties I discovered Feldenkrais bodywork and this made a HUGE
difference in my hip (and the rest of me). Now I have manageable hip pain
2-4 days a month, instead of chronic severe pain. For more information on

- Having good support in my chair has also helped. Your chair should have a
firm seat and back, with good lumbar support.
I agree with others that a trip to a pain specialist could be helpful.
