Amy,
BookPort and  BookCurrier can't directly read PDF.
BookPort can read 'RTF" output from word, and HTML web pages.
You might save some PDFs on your desktop system to RTF or HTML
and transfer them to BookPort.
Extra work, but the size of PDF files is so huge they'd eat you
out of portable memory
