Hi Leslie,
Actually there aren't very manu audio levels and we think they aren't much good,
but that doesn't matter for you.

I believe the royan national institute for the blind england
made the one which is a steel track which has a ball rolling in it.

that may be what you mean.

If they no longer make that one, I know of nothing else, but its an
interesting challenge and we here at Smith-Kettle rehab engineering
center will give it some thought.

what if you had an absolutely square frame, with four sides,
in the center of the top side would hang a string. From the bottom of this
string would hang a 'plumb bob" which is a weight that is round with a pointed
bottom so it hangs absolutely straight down.

This weight would hang so when all is level, it would be just above a mark
on the bottom of the square frame.

You could set the bottom of the square on a surface, or hold the side against
a vertical surface.

It could take a little very carefull feeling to see that things were level
without bumping the hanging weight too much, but then deaf blind folks
have to be darned good at feeling carefully don't they!

That was just off the top of my head.
If you don't find anything else, and if RNIB doesn't have the ball level,
let me know and I'll see what we might make up.

If we decide to invent something, for you, you get the first one
for free.
