John,

So did you find out what was causing this problem? I also do not hear the
commands aloud. I know that the cut and paste and also the bold, underline,
and some other commands are indeed being carried out, but they are not being
spoken.

Any info would be helpful.

Valerie Lewis

Subject: An Apology

Hello fellow listers:

Some time back, I posted to the list asking for assistance with a
problem; specifically, that my keyboard controls for cutting, copying
and pasting appeared not to be working. Well, come to find out, the
operations were being carried out, but I wasn't receiving correct
information from my screen-reading program. Now, not to blame JAWS...I
got hit with a very vitious computer virus last october, and despite
paying a very knowledgeable techy $500 to fix things, the computer has
never been "right" since. It certainly wasn't worth throwing more money
at the old box, so I just acquired a new muscle machine.

All this to say that I very much appreciate all those who wrote to me
off list with suggestions, ideas, etc., and I do apologize for not
having acknowledged your posts. Consider this to be my attempt at
making amends as I do consider it to be very bad form to solicit advice
and then not acknowledge those who step forward to provide it.

John (who is loving his new computer)
