sadly, the only way to get some of them off the roles is to have them
kicked of. It's a shame too because there are those out there elligible
who cannot get on.

Hmmm, I wonder if this will "force" some of the "deadbeats" (Like my
sister
AND my sister-in-law.) to get off their lazy BUTTS and GET A JOB???

My sister has the same genetic condition I do. (AD Coloboma of the Iris
and
Lens.) Because her Infantile Cataracts developed when she was only 4,
her
lenses were yanked. Because the lens involvement of our Coloboma is
what has
caused MOST of our vision problems, when her's were yanked, she went to
20/100 vision, since she was 4 years old. However, she has managed to
convince SSA that she could NOT POSSIBLY work. (Yeah right!!! Up until
I
has some experimental surgery in May of 2000, my vision was 20/200 AT
BEST
and I have managed to become a rather successful Software Engineer.(
Now she
has two kids that she also gets SSDI check for. Talk about Government
Gaurenteed CHARITY!!! She lives as far south of Atlanta City as I live
north
of Atlanta City and yet, I can manage to get into "town" to work, even
though
they have cancelled most of MARTA-s service into North FUlton County.
She
has NEVER had a job "outside the home. SSA is PAYING HER to stay home
with
her kids. (What about every OTHER mother in this country that HAS to
work
because of THIER family's Tax Burden?)

My sister-in-law has ALWAYS ben a "user". Well, when simply whining and
*itching no longer worked (I booted her out of MY household TWICE for
refusing to lift a finger OR help with the household budget.), she
started
claiming every medical disorder she could think of in order to NOT work.
It
went for Narcalepsy to Celiac's Syndrome. Now she has a doctor
CONVINCED she
has FMS. (What she has is a TERMINAL case of the Spoiled Rotten
LAZIES!!!
One exam and he determines FMS. I have come to learn FMS, like
Altzimers is
diagnosed by Process Of Elimination.) Well, she got one of those new
SSDI
lawyers and they got her on SSDI. What she REALLY needs is a good kick
in
the ARSE!!!

Sorry for the whining, but I REALLY hope we can put SOME of the
nere-do-wells
on SSDI to WORK. Oh, wait, WORK is a FOUR-LETTER WORD!!! I KNOW there
ARE
people out there that simply CANNOT work. But, they are outnumbered by
the
ones on SSDI that CAN work.

Mary Blanton (Who is sick to DEATH of hearing the whining and
complaining
coming from several females in my family.)

The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program;
Final Regulations

Synopsis

On December 28, 2001, the Social Security Administration (SSA)
published
final regulations implementing the "Ticket to Work and
Self-Sufficiency
Program" (the Ticket to Work program) authorized by the Ticket to
Work
and
Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999 (P.L. 106-170). The Ticket
to
Work
program provides Social Security disability beneficiaries and
disabled
or
blind Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries with expanded
access
to
employment services, vocational rehabilitation services, or other
support
services. This program will enable these beneficiaries to obtain,
regain
or
maintain employment and to reduce their dependency on cash
assistance.
Under
this program, SSA will pay the providers of those services, called
employment networks (ENs), after the beneficiaries achieve certain
levels
of
work and earnings.

These final regulations:

explain the purpose of the Ticket to Work program and how SSA will
implement
the program in graduated phases in sites around the country;
provide that most beneficiaries receiving disability-based cash
benefits
from SSA will receive tickets if they are at least age 18 but not
yet
age
65;
explain how a beneficiary receiving a ticket can assign it to an EN
or
State
vocational rehabilitation agency to obtain services;
explain what is meant by the term "using a ticket" and how "using a
ticket"
protects a beneficiary from initiation of a medical review to
determine
whether he or she continues to meet SSA's definition of disability;
explain what the Program Manager does to assist SSA to administer
the
Ticket
to Work program;
describe the qualifications and responsibilities of ENs and how
State
vocational rehabilitation agencies participate in the Ticket to Work
program;
describe when an EN or State vocational rehabilitation agency is
paid
under
the Ticket to Work program, and the two systems for paying ENs for
assisting
beneficiaries to go to work;
explain how we will settle disputes arising in the Ticket to Work
program
between beneficiaries and ENs, beneficiaries and State vocational
rehabilitation agencies, and ENs and the Program Manager; and
explain how implementation of the Ticket to Work program will affect
the
alternate participant program.
