Michele,
I run WME and have had no problems getting the updates at all. In fact, I just received one the day before yesterday. The way I understand it is that M$ has already discontinued on line support for W98 and W98SE, but all updates are available on a disk from M$. Just how much the charge is (if any) is an unknown. Others readers may know more, just relaying what is happening on this end.

Subject: [PCBUILD] windows updates
Can anyone answer my question regarding updates for windows?
When Microsoft refer to stopping updates very soon for win98, have they also stopped the updates for ME as well?
Reason being, I was running 98, and have now moved on to ME, but when I try to get the updates (and there must be lots to be had by now), I get to the page, which just tells me there is a "windows update error."
I've tried all different ways to access the page, but I get the same message no matter which way I do it.
Anyone else having this problem? How can I resolve it?
Thanks in advance.
