I have been helping someone with a DVD Lockup Problem.
The DVD drive is a newer model Toshiba, that is
installed in a system with an 800 mhz Duron Processor
in an Amptron Main Board with the SIS Chipset, and
Visiontek 32 meg GeForce Video.
The Problem is that all functions of the Drive work
flawlessly, until a DVD disk is installed in the
device, then the system will lock up.
When the drive was first installed, it worked fine,
but has not worked again since the first run!
All the DVD Software has been removed, and
reinstalled, and nothing seems to fix the DVD
Playback. I have had very little experience with DVD
drives, and am now wondering if the drive is
defective, since all other functions of the drive seem
OK.
Thanks for the input,
Steve Wolfe
