"But there is very little evidence that poor blacks or Hispanics are
genetically predisposed to the vast majority of the afflictions from which they
disproportionately suffer.
that's a bunch of bologni.
"The American Dietetic Association estimates that between 30 and 50 million
Americans are lactose intolerant. Lactose intolerance seems to affect guys
and girls equally. But certain ethnic groups are more likely to be affected.
About 90% of Asian Americans are lactose intolerant, and up to 75% of African
Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans also have symptoms of
lactose intolerance."

" As the living conditions of blacks
have improved over the past century, their health improved in step; when
conditions deteriorated, health deteriorated, too. This has helped
support the contention among researchers that much chronic disease among
minority groups is caused not by genes, but by something else."
I would agree with you.. we dont have bad genes...just when your living
conditions deteriorate. you arent exactly buying fruits and vegetables and eating
at vegan restaurants. I can barely afford to do that and im well off.
no,.. you're buying 99 cent double cheese burgers and eating cheese
sandwiches from the WIC program. you also have milk at your free breakfast, milk and
a dairy baised lunch, and since by then you are addicted to it... <see
previous posts about caseomorphins> you go ahead and have it for dinner or at
whatever charity afterschool program you go to.
"Worldwide, most people are unable to produce large amounts of lactase. It's
mainly northern Europeans and a few populations in Africa who developed the
genetic mutation that allows them to comfortably consume milk after
childhood..."
"The prevalence of lactose intolerance probably hasn't gotten a lot
attention because many policy makers and media members are Caucasian and don't think
of it as a common problem, said Dr. Hetal Karsan, a specialist at Atlanta's
Emory University."
it is also true of asian minorities..but the fact is.. milk is NOT a staple
of the asian diet. you will start to see a rise in the next few year in asia
countries as american companies and ideas start to convince them that they
need milk too. you just have to wait and watch.

<<"What I find compelling is that there are so many factors in these poorer
neighborhoods that seizing on one - dairy - seems to me to be an
unlikely conclusion. Moreover, much of the population that is affected
by many of the health problems - including asthma - are way past school
age and no longer having the 50% "solid" dairy.">>
The African american diet continues to be well above the national average of
46 percent on into adulthood.
And, these afflictions are by no means limited to blacks - but include every
ethnic group that live in these deplorable inner-city conditions.
Poor black and hispanics are the ones being disporportionaly affected by
these illnesses.. that's the whole point of the article.
you also write:
"Knowing my own case as I do, I was amazed when I was recently tested for
allergies to find what I was allergic to - dust mites being among the
most reactive on the tests. I choose to conclude, based on my own
experience and the readings I have done, that the mass of unclean
conditions are the primary cause of the illnesses in those areas."
OR we can base it on my case AND combine it with the FACT that minorities
have problems with milk and add to that the countless testimony from MANY
agencies linking dairy with the big diseases that are killing blacks and hispanics
and come to the conclusion that these illnesses are NOT primarily caused by
dirty conditions...they are cause because of the negative mental and
physical effects of dairy on minorities.
think eric..in countless third world countries where living conditions are
deplorable and dirty and mice urine is the rule... people die of dissentery or
..but they DONT die of childhood diabetes..and they dont have asthma... and
they dont have osteoporosis among the old people..even though they consume on
average 1/4 the calcium we do in america.
