Haruna,
Thanks for that statement. Actions speak louder than words- so
goes the old adage. I would have taken Jammeh seriously if he
had followed up his words with actions like releasing Dumo and
others and prosecute those who murdered our school children. In
my view, extending an amnesty to Jawara is just a political
ploy to score a bulls eye.
I hope Bully Dibba is paying attention to the actions of
Sheriff Dibba who has joined the APRC. When I chastised Sheriff
for his selfish actions, Bully Dibba cautioned me to wait and
see in the hopes that Sheriff will not join the APRC. Well,
the waiting is over and no amount of telling me how "noble"
or "unselfish" Sheriff is can convince me. The man is a
sycophant as evidenced by his actions.
Some of us have a problem of accepting the truth especially
when it concerns someone we are related to. I have seen on
numerous occasions folks like Bulli Dibba lurking in the
corridors of the Gambia L waiting to prance on anyone that says
anything to someone they are related to. If you do not want us
speaking about your relatives, tell them to bow out of the
Gambian public life. Taking up for them and going all emotional
will not stop us. If public figures make public statements, the
public have all rights to react how they deem fit.
