Folks,
Think over the message of one of Gambia's new breed of poets.
Keep it up Sister Annie.

ACT INDIFFERENT DIE MY SOUL MATE
GAMBIA'S! Wake-up and heed the call
The AIDS pandemic is having a ball
Choose to believe or pretend not to know
Your life, could be at stake today
The writing has been on the wall
Long before the President's faithful call
Newspapers, radios, report the toll
As death awaits you all who heed not the call
You look in the mirror what do you see?
A smiling face looking back at you
So confident and indifferent you have become
But death awaits you all who heed not the call
Our brothers and sisters have taken the lead
Openly shared their experiences and fears
Of loved ones they will leave behind
As death awaits you all who heed not the call
Hospitals and clinics care for them all
Our brothers and sisters who have befall
Victims of Aids's terrible lure
Death they await their welcome relief
If you still insist on being promiscuous
Think of the consequences that follow
A trail of pain, suffering and degradation
For death awaits you all who heed not the call
To YOU who care for all victims of AIDS
God's Blessings YOU will surely receive
Giving love and comfort they so dearly need
Until God's call to eternal rest they receive.
