I once needed five stitches in my left leg because some idiot left a three
pronged garden tool out and I fell on it. Not fun and not fun being stitched
without anesthetic at my local doc's office.
The same guy had stitched me up when I cracked my head open on a table. Now
that was a terrible sight. My Mom was screaming, I was screaming, the
neighbor was driving us to the doc's and I was spurting blood! this was in
the 1960s, so no 911... and neighbors actually helped one another. I'll
never forget when this same neighbor came running to our door because his
wife's eyeball had become detached. So my Mom drove them to the hospital.
Sadly, I do not really know my neighbors anymore, they come and go so quickly
(I mean rent, then move out).
I'd forgotten those experiences......
