If someone could help me help a friend, I sure would appreciate it. As
I am a Certified, card-carrying Microsoft Hater, I avoid Microsoft
OutLook 2000 like the Plaque. I use Netscape Communicator and Netscape
Mail for all of my Internet needs. The following is what she wrote to
me.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Mary Blanton (Who is OutLook Clueless and plans to stay that way.)

Oh, another thing you may be able to help me with. I have a problem
with my Outlook 2000 (from Office 2000) and was wondering if you know
anything about it. Whenever I send an attachment, it goes through to
the recipient as a 'winmail.dat' file. This happens with every
attachment whether is is a jpg, word doc etc.

It is only happening in Outlook 2000 as I have been using Outlook
Express to send attachments and that is working fine. Do you have any
idea what might be wrong? I have asked several 'customer service' (HA
what a JOKE!!) people and they have no idea. I have even uninstalled
and reinstalled Office and it is still happening but I am thinking
perhaps if is somewhere in my personal folder because I exported that
and then imported it after reinstallation.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any hints/comments.
