I have the same motherboard and very similar system configuration but I have
not seen such problems as you have. I have had my share of problems with win
XP though. I have three hard drives install in the system and right now I
have it successfully install Win XP, Win 2000, and Win, ME. I did have a
problem with both the updated VIA 4in1 drivers and the highpoint drivers so I
used the drivers from the disk that was included with the motherboard and
they are vr. 1.3. You might think about using older drivers to install. But
when I did use newer drivers in Win XP it would not let me uninstall,
rollback, or reinstall older drivers until I formatted the order that
installed the OS was WIN ME then WIN 2000, then WIN XP due to the boot
manager included with 2000 and XP. Hope this helps.
