As I asked you in a private message, How? These are images of checks to
speed up the process of banks transferring money to each other. It has
nothing to do with the consumer. Besides, all the information for each check
is transferred in to the bank's database for internal and customer access.
The bank only accesses the image if there is a question about accuracy after
the data has been processed.

Lynn,

Thank you. I am concerned it should be accessible across the board. =
Even
if it is internal it should be accessible. Just as the buildings of an
organization should be accessible so should its electronic and =
information
technology. =20

Seems to me at this point it should be done as a matter of course. I =
know
it is not, but I believe it should be.

Sincerely,

Mike Burks

If I have read the article correctly, the banks wouldn't have to make =
this=20
accessible. This is for bank employees only. The check images will be =
passed

between banks. In the old days checks, the paper was passed between =
banks.=20
The check didn't clear until the bank the check was drawn on got the =
paper=20
on, back. Since the 911 tragedies, banks now move the electronic image=20
between banks. Electronic images move faster than paper checks.

Now if you were a bank employee you might have a concern. As a bank =
customer

needing a print out of a check you would just request it from the =
teller.
