Hello:

I'm trying to do some research to find an accessible NewsReader that will
work smoothly with Window-Eyes 4.2 and Win '98 SE. Yes, I know that
Outlook Express can serve as a NewsReader, but I'd prefer not to use it for
philosophical reasons, including the fact that it annoys me that it tries
to take over my system and coopt itself as my mailreader, too.

I want to keep Eudora as my mailreader, and as I understand it, Eudora 5.1
cannot function as a NewsReader. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

I found the list that follows. The only piece of software with a name I
recognize is Agent.

Anyone have recommendations? I'd prefer a free one, but for better
functionality, I can be convinced to pay. The main thing is that I want to
be able to learn how to use it quickly.

If I had any Linux components installed, or had Lynx for Windows installed,
I would try that route, but I don't, and I need to tinker around as little
as possible, for the moment.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts. Here's the list I found. From the Web
page:
