This conference sounds like a great opportunity.  About 70 people will be
selected.  All meals, transportation, and lodging will be provided.  More
info is at the web site listed below.

Attention! Applications are now being accepted for young leaders with
disabilities, ages 16 - 24, to participate in the 2002 National Youth
Leadership Network Conference. The Conference will be held in Washington,
DC
from July 26 - 29th.

Conference goals are to help prepare the next generation of disability
community leaders and to develop recommendations for improving policies
and
services for young people with disabilities in the United States. This
year's conference will focus on employment and career development.
Approximately 70 young leaders will be chosen to participate.

DISCOVER how government works and ways to advance leadership in your
local
community.
LEARN leadership and career development skills.
SHARE IDEAS for improving the lives of young people with disabilities.
NETWORK with past and future disability leaders and make contacts that
will
spark new ideas and inspire you to work toward your dreams.

The deadline for applications is February 28, 2002. To obtain an

The National Youth Leadership Network is sponsored by the US Department

Education; National Council on Disability; Presidential Task Force on the

HRSA/Maternal
and Child Health Bureau; and the US Department of Labor.
