Amazon.Com stung by pricing error
(Date: 2001-03-28 16:59:08)
Viking 1GB 133MHz DIMMs for $19.99? Well if it sounds too good to be true,
it probably is. For a few hours on Amazon.Com that was indeed the price
displayed on the site.
Amazon is refusing to honor the sales.
This is not the first case where Amazon got caught with their
pants...umm...prices down. Last September, a problem with pricing DVDs led
to discounts of as much as 75%. And last August, the company's response to
complaints about pricing led consumers to file complaints with the FTC and
the Better Business Bureau about alleged "Bait and Switch" practices.
Amazon representatives blamed the incident on "input error."
