After you've made all those connections, you need to configure the D704 with the IE interface. Since it is also a switchbox, you'll need to configure your network. Something else they don't tell you, after you've configured the router, you need to unplug it for about 5 seconds then plug it in again. You also need to run "winipcfg", set the pulldown for your NIC, then click release and renew. You'll need to add a protocol like IPX/SPX (something like that) or NETBEUI to both computers so they can talk to each other on your home network. I think Netbeui works better with Win 95/98 combo. Add share files and printers, then click properties on Netbeui to bind it only to share files and printers. Do not bind it to anything else as @home won't work. The Dlink manual was the worst I've ever seen for telling you how to set it up (It just won't work with their quick install sheet, or their manual). SMC was better, but I wouldn't have gotten it to work if I didn't have a very young megaturbogeek kid as a friend.

>Each time they are powered up the DI-704 will recognize them and
>set their IP address to instantly connect them to the LAN.".
>In most home cases, the LAN is the Internet.
