If you had 3 other yellow exclamation points in device manager, you may have had some kind of conflict related to the sound card. If those exclamation points are now gone, and the sound card is still not working, then I'd say your card is not compatible with Win Me. Someone who knows & runs Win Me needs to step up to the plate on this one.

>>I think you hit the nail on the head in your first sentence. It may be that the drivers for your modem/soundcard have not been updated to work in Win Me. If you look in device manager is there a yellow exclamation point next to this device? You might go to the web site of the manufacturer to see if this card will work in Win Me. You might check the "inf" folder in Win Me to see if there is an "inf" for this device. You might also check the drivers folder on the installation disk.

>Checked the drivers folder on the installation disk and found nothing that helped me.
>I went to the web site of the manufacturer got nowhere.

>I don't thing I am going to find a driver to work with ME.
>There is a lot I don't understand about drivers so this may not make sense, but I find that the inf files that have to do with Rockwell modems in WIN ME and WIN98 are not the same.
>Being that the modem and sound work in W98 and not in ME could it be as simple as adding/or replacing?
