Jeff: Mandrake 8/8.1 has it own partition wiz and lilo.

Insert the Mandrake disc or floppy. You will get a dialogue box showing how
much unused space there is on your hard drive. Decide how much of that your
want to devote to Linux and mandrake will oartition your drive and install
itself.

You may have trouble getting Linux to recognize some components. There are
work arounds for most of these but it might pay you to check first to see
how many of your cards etc are compatible with the OS.
