thanks, janice.
i'm kinda planning to go cold turkey, too, starting tomorrow. i did well
today, but i did eat leftover homemade lentil stew from the day before. it
was too good to waste and i was so proud of myself for making it from
scratch. at dinner i said right away i didn't want a baked potato and my mom
still tried to put one on my plate. i repeated that i didn't want one. she
looked shocked and oddly dismayed. "you're not going to eat a POTATO?" i
ate the salad, skipping the croutons and only adding carrots and sesame seeds
to the lettuce, and i had some no-cal, no-carb dressing (there's salt in it,
but oh well...i haven't had a chance to get to the store to buy ingredients
for my own). i ate the mushrooms although i'm pretty sure they were sauteed
in butter. the steak was grain-fed, i am sure, but i ate that, too. it
wasn't noticeably fatty. it was weird enough for my mom that i refused a
potato. luckily for me, we don't eat a big dinner together every night.
it's more like 2-3 times a week. when we 'fend for ourselves' i can eat
whatever i want, mostly unnoticed.
i'm glad to hear that it's going so well for you. i'm hoping to reap some of
the benefits as well. :-)
