I had a phone conversation today with Bette Hagman. She's the author of the
top selling gluten-free cookbooks. I was telling her of what I was eating
these days, and why. Macadamia nuts came up and I told her why they were
not a permitted nut. She said as kids they opened them all the time, it was
not all that hard, and they didn't use vices. Apparently she grew up on a
nut farm.
