Dina,

Have fun in FLA. There are several of us on this who are married and most
have children. I have been married 38 years. My son and daughter were adopted
and my daughter has a repaired cleft palate. She has three children. My wife,
Joyce, does not have a disability, unless you include being married to me.
Joyce and I are lonely here in Memphis. I finished a 33 years career of
teaching at the U. of Memphis. Joyce and I grew up in Texas and most of our
family is there. My daughter lives in Austin and my son lives in Charlotte,
NC. We plan to move to Austin this Spring if we can sell our house. Marriage
among CP''s is more prevalent now. I did a study back in the '60's of 59
adults with CP and about 8 were married. There is also some interest on this
list regarding parenting and having a disability. I wrote a chapter in a book
back in the '80's on parenting and there was little research on the subject
except that in the few studies done, children of persons with disabilities
were better adjusted than their peers with parents without disabilties. But
there needs to be more knowledge available out there on parenting.

Sorry for the lecture. I did not mean to run on like this.

Happy Holidays!

Bobby
