Speaking only for myself, I think we all need to take a real deep breathe on
this one.
Ableism, or whatever, you wish to label it, is very controversial. Alot of us
are speaking, but not many are really hearing, understanding or whatever goes
into the semanic interpretation of typed symbols on a screen. The reason for
this is we are discussing emotional issues. Once an argument begins to
involve the amydala and limbic regions of the cortex(emotions, in other
words), such arguments are rarely reasonable or rational. For a better
explanation, read Damasio's "Descarte's Error".
So maybe we should heed Carla's advice and cool off.
